You consider yourself a high achiever; you excel at work and any other commitment that you take on and you’ve got a large network of friends and family that you try to be there for. On the outside, it looks like you’ve got it all together, but there is this creeping feeling on the inside that something is missing.

You lie awake at night, thinking about all of the things on your to-do list that you haven’t yet accomplished. You have other goals as well, dreams of traveling or writing that book you’ve been marinating on or learning how to play the guitar or finally taking an art class, yet you never seem to be able to make time for these things.

You have too many people depending on you at work, at home, and in life. So, you go another day feeling stressed out and sometimes wondering what it’s all for.

You want to feel more connected with your partner and know that your wants and needs matter, too.  You want peace at home with your teen, instead of worrying and nagging them at every turn.  You want to know that your family will survive your loved one’s road of recovery, but aren’t sure how to travel with them in a way that is healthy for all of you.

My name is Alina Klein and I am here to help you find and maintain your sense of self in the midst of the “hustle”. As a therapist at Harper Therapy, I am here to help you re-evaluate your priorities and to walk with you and cheer you on as you ask yourself the hard questions: Am I spending my time the way I want to? Do I make commitments out of a sense of responsibility and obligation rather than true desire? Do I truly feel fulfilled or do I keep putting my personal goals off, leaving them for “someday”? Am I fulfilled in my relationships or do I put my needs to the side in order to be there for others?

As someone who has worked full-time while obtaining two masters degrees, I have a fairly good understanding of the “hustle” and the importance of staying grounded and connected with myself and others, even when it seems like there is no time. I have been told by clients that I have a calming, approachable presence and my superpower is being able to talk to almost anyone and help them feel at ease. I strive to use this gift to help others become more connected to themselves and the people in their lives.

The details – I am a few months shy of becoming a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I was an intern at Harper Therapy while in graduate school and now continue to see clients post-graduation. I also have experience as a substance abuse therapist, running groups and working with families who have been affected by the disease of addiction. In addition, I have a Masters Degree in Business Administration and have worked in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors throughout my career.

I also believe in community and giving back, and give my time and resources to local organizations such as the Crisis Center, the Florida Community of Mindfulness and NPR. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, hiking, biking, and doing pretty much anything that involves being outside!

If you feel like Alina could be a positive resource for you, give our office a call to schedule a free consultation with Alina Klein MSW Registered Clinical Social Work Intern at 813-434-3639.
