Collaboration with Riverside Recovery of Tampa

Riverside

When you or someone you know is in the middle of addiction, life as you know it is turned completely on its head.  When you come to the space of considering treatment, you need a top-notch facility with caring experts who can walk you through the process.

Shamon and I had the opportunity to tour Riverside Recovery of Tampa and meet its co-founders, Kirk and Elizabeth.  We couldn't help but be impressed with the quality of the facility, the attention to detail that Kirk and Elizabeth put into every aspect of treatment.  But mostly, it is their heart that shines through.  Their passion that people find health through recovery.  The amount of research they put into each intervention they offer.

We went ahead and asked them a few questions, Their responses to those questions are listed below!

With that, we're glad to offer Kirk's expertise and Riverside as an option if you or a loved one is seeking drug or alcohol addiction treatment!

Q: What is your name and title?

A: Kirk Kirkpatrick, CEO/Co-Founder

Q: What is the name of your business/organization?

A: Riverside Recovery of Tampa

Q: Why did you open Riverside Recovery in Tampa?

A: I'm very passionate about recovery and helping others. I'm personally in recovery and after a couple years of being sober, my passions shifted and Elizabeth and I formed our vision of what Riverside Recovery would be like. We felt like Tampa needed a "Minnesota style" treatment facility because of the high success rates from programs of that sort. I love going to work everyday and helping those who are struggling with this deadly disease of addiction.

Q: What kind of treatment does Riverside Recovery provide to the Tampa Bay Area?

A: We provide all levels of care at Riverside. This includes full medical detoxification, residential program, partial hospitalization (php or day/night treatment), intensive outpatient and outpatient. We also have an incredible program for the family of loved ones attending treatment. This includes twice weekly open groups for family members and once a month 3-day long intensive family workshop weekends. We have two full time staff just dedicated to our family program.

Q: What types of addition recovery to you work with?

A: We work with anyone who has a primary diagnosis of Substance Use Disorder - alcohol and drugs. We're working on getting our mental health license which will open the doors for others who struggle with a primary diagnosis of Mental Health.

Q: What happens during treatment intake?

A: We do a thorough assessment and triage over the phone and work with the client or family to schedule the intake/admission date. Our admissions team answers calls 24/7 and admits clients 24/7. We function like an emergency center because addiction is life or death and we want to be available when that person reaches out because they may never have a chance to do that again. After the client arrives to Riverside, our intake team does the in person admission and our nursing/medical team finishes the process. The client is taken back to detox shortly after admission so they can get comfortable and monitored closely by our medical team.

Q: What do you wish people knew about getting treatment for addictions?

A: If there was something I could tell people it would be this: Give treatment a real chance and take the suggestions the clinical/medical team give you while you're in treatment.

Q: What makes Riverside Recovery unique in detox and treating additions?

A: We have a full medical team onsite 24/7 and we're very attentive to the comfort level of clients. One size does not fit all so every client is treated with a unique approach. Our detox team is outstanding.

Q: How can people learn more and contact you? (Website, Phone, Social Media Platforms)

A: Anyone can call or text our 24/7 admissions number at (813) 575-4141 to speak with a specialist. We're always here to help even if you're not ready to admit or you just have questions. We sometimes work with family members months, sometimes years before the client admits. Call us - we're here to help. Another communication option is emailing info@rrtampa.com which our admissions team responds to or visiting our website at rrtampa.com to chat online.
