What to expect from a Couples and Marriage Intensive in Tampa

Marriage Intensives

You’re exploring your options for getting support for your relationship in the Tampa Bay Area.  You’ve taken a look at regular couples and marriage counseling, couples workshops, and couples intensives and you’re wondering what you should expect from a couples intensive.

Couples intensives are focused and highly specialized therapy for couples who are looking to make a big change in a short period of time.  They are a good fit for couples regardless of how long or short a period of time you’ve been together and they are particularly helpful for busy couples who would otherwise have a hard time coordinating weekly therapy sessions, as well as for couples who feel an urgency to make change quickly.

Another benefit of intensive therapy is that it allows you to take a step away from the daily grind that keeps you from being able to truly focus on your relationship.  If you don’t live in the Tampa Bay Area, this is a great location to travel to do an intensive, and if you do live in the area, I encourage you to book a hotel during the intensive process.  Removing distractions is a big part of the healing that happens during an intensive as you’re able to bring your best selves to the therapy room.

Harper Therapy’s Couples and Marriage Intensive starts with meeting you and your partner and getting clear about what goals you have for your intensive time.  I’ll help you identify the losing strategies that are at play in your relationship and we’ll map out your path to healing and deeper connection. As we move into the afternoon, we get a better idea of the deeper factors that are at play in your relationship and I give you the tools and coaching to address these things.

After a day of deep and meaningful work, it’s playtime!  You and your partner will choose an activity that will remind you of the fun and playfulness that were a key factor of your relationship early, but gets lost along life’s way.

Day two is a continuation of healing, coaching, and tool-building, with a plan on how to continue the progress that you’ve made during the intensive.  Don’t worry, there are also scheduled follow-up sessions for fine-tune and tweak your news skills and adapt them to your everyday life!

Now, here’s my questions for you…
