Sign up now for Rising Strong for Families of Addicted Loved ones

More than a support group, this is a life preserver that will allow you to connect with others who get it and give you a framework for navigating through the most difficult experience that you never thought you’d face. This group is geared directly towards individuals who are looking for a way to face a family member’s addiction head on while still learning to take care of themselves.

You’ve tried everything and yet you still feel so powerless.

You feel broken and have no idea what to do or where to turn for help. How can anyone possibly understand what you’re dealing with?

You’ve told yourself in the past that your loved one just likes to drink to have fun or uses drugs recreationally, yet now you see that it is taking over their lives. You never thought it would become the one thing you feared the most… an addiction.

Your loved one used to be such a bright light in this world. Their smile would light up the whole room and people would gravitate to them. But now, every day you see your loved one shrink a little more, and in the process you’re shrinking too. All you can think about is whether they will stay clean or sober and how you can fix it. You’ve tried everything and yet you still feel so powerless.

Rising Strong for Families of Addicted Loved Ones

Our Rising Strong for Families of Addicted Loved Ones is more than a support group. It’s a life preserver that will allow you to connect with others who get it and give you a framework for navigating through the most difficult experience that you never thought you’d face.

This group is geared directly towards individuals who are looking for a way to face a family member’s addiction head on while still learning to take care of themselves.

PARTICIPENTS WILL

Face your loved one’s addiction head on AND take care of yourself.

Build skills to fight the shame of not being able to “fix” it.

Identify and implement healthy boundaries so that you can get off the emotional roller coaster of your loved one’s behaviors.

Grieve the relationship you had hoped to have with your loved one.

Gain a community of like minded people to support you through the process.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

You have a loved one who is actively struggling with addiction, or is early in their recovery process, and you’re exhausted by trying to figure out what to do to help them.

You’re scared to talk about this stuff with the people closest to you.

You feel ashamed by not being able to “fix it” or make things better.

You want a supportive community to walk with you. You want to learn more about what you can actually do or not do that will be helpful

THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF

You’re trying to “cure” your loved one.

You’re not willing to look at hard or uncomfortable emotions (with support).

You want to place blame on someone or something for your loved one’s pain.

What to expect

8 Weekly Virtual Sessions Meeting Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:00 pm

Our virtual group is limited to 8 participants in order to create a comfortable space to work through hard things.

You are committing to attending each session. There are no refunds for missed sessions. Why? Because you need this community and the community needs you. Without it, the skills that you learn fall flat. And if you miss a week, you are committing to return to the group the following week. We have found that this is the framework to help you get the support you need.

Group fee of $700 is due at registration and is non-refundable. The fee includes sessions and materials. Because we know that the work is ongoing, you can register and participate in any future sessions at no additional cost. Registration is not transferable.

Meet Toni

Social Work MSW,
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern #15992

I’m Toni Gorn and I am working toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My super power is empathy. It is important to me that clients feel comfortable and know that my space is always a judgement free zone. I am solution oriented and will help you build skills to handle the curve balls life and relationships will continue to throw at you. Together we can work through your difficult times and use them to help build a strong future. I can help you find joy and connection with your family and yourself.

What does participation in a virtual group look like?

You will receive all group materials ahead of time, including a link to a secure video platform. You’ll log in 5 minutes prior to the start of the group and join in!

What if I can’t make it to each session?

In order for you to get the best outcome from this experience, we ask you to commit to the weekly meeting. If you are not able to make a meeting, then rejoin the group on the next call. Your registration gives you lifetime access to the group, so you can also participate at a future date. If your schedule conflicts with more than one meeting, we ask that you keep an eye out for future offerings that will be a better fit for your schedule.

What if I’m uncomfortable in a group format?

The opposite of addiction is connection. This is true for your loved one, and it’s true for you as well (because, let’s face it, your loved one’s recovery has become your addiction). So, although it might be uncomfortable to begin with, you’ll quickly realize that you need the group. And the group will realize that they need you. We’re skilled in group dynamics, so we work hard at creating an environment where you can be you — struggles and all — and realize that you are not alone. And that’s the most powerful part of the group! We hope you’ll join us!

What about my personal information?

What’s discussed in the group stays in the group. Period.

How will this help me manage my loved one’s addiction?

This group is designed to help YOU through the process of having a loved one in addiction. We can’t guarantee what will happen with your loved one, but when you learn the skills and put them in place, you’re focusing on what you CAN control. And a change in a part of the system often means a change in the system.
